Many environmental problems are hidden in the objects and services we use every day. In this module you look at those “ordinary” things with a fresh, creative eye. You explore how crises and challenges can become opportunities for innovation, and you follow Design Thinking steps to create and test your own eco-solution.

By the end of this module you will be able to:
- Identify sustainability problems in everyday products and services.
- Use structured problem-solving methods (such as Design Thinking) to develop ideas.
- Communicate and visualise an improved, more sustainable version of a product or service.
What you will do in this activity
In this activity you will:
- Choose an everyday product or service and map its environmental impacts.
- Apply Design Thinking steps (empathise, define, ideate, prototype, test) in a simplified way.
- Create and present a short concept for a redesigned, more sustainable version – through text, sketched drawings, slides or a video pitch.
